Heart catheter

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To safely and certainly perform surgical treatment of arrhythmia, by arranging an electrode for electrophysiological examination and a heating means burning the required cavity region of the heart to a long member. CONSTITUTION:A heart catheter 3 is composed of a solid columnar long member 2 made of a polymer material having a coil-shaped platinum heater being a heating means embedded therein and electrodes 4, 5 for electrophysiological examination are embedded in said long member 2. In the use of the catheter 3, the lead wire terminals 6, 7 of the electrodes 4, 5 are connected to an electrophysiological examination apparatus and the lead wire terminals 8, 9 of the heater 1 are connected to a heating power source.
