Label register and reference system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve retrieval efficiency by generating a hash value for register and reference of a label based on the label and its description position information. CONSTITUTION:A hash value generating means does not generate the has value in accordance with only the label but adds an internal procedure name p1, where the label is described, to couple a label Name1 and the name p1 and uses them as one label to generate a has value m11 in accordance with expression m11=Hm (Name1, p1) where Hm is the hash function. In this case, since nesting of blocks is limited to two levels and the same name is not used as internal procedure names, there is a high probability that different hash values are generated even if labels Name1 having the same name appear in different internal procedures. Thus, the retrieval efficiency for reference to labels is improved in the translation processing of language where nesting of blocks is limited to two levels.
