Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To instruct a camera with using a photographer's hand by detecting a photographer's visual line position and deciding the indication of the photographer on the basis of the detected positional information. CONSTITUTION:An eye ball motion detector 30 continuously detects a position on a finder screen observed by the photographer and sends the positional signal to a gate control circuit 34. The positional signal permits a gate circuit 16 to pass a video signal in a specified screen area. Thus, an AF control circuit 20 and an AE control circuit 22 execute AF control and AE control respectively on the basis of object image information in the specified area. Since various instructions to the camera can be applied by the movement of the eye balls, it is unnecessary to separate the photographer's eyes from the finder and to use his hand.
