Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To carry out an optimum cooling of a fuel system, when a fuel system cooling fan is driven until the temperature of an engine becomes less than a set value after stoppage of the engine, by lowering this set value if the engine temperature directly after the stoppage of the engine is higher than the set value and further the time required for starting is long. CONSTITUTION:A cooling fan drive control means 92 drives a cooling fan 14 until the temperature of an engine becomes less than a predetermined temperature after stoppage of the engine on the basis of the detected result of an engine temperature detector 90, and an engine stoppage detecting means 91 to cool the fuel system of the engine. A set temperature control means 95, on the basis of the outputs from a storing means 93 which stores the engine temperature directly after the stoppage of the engine, and a starting time detecting means 94 which detects the starting time of the engine, lowers the set temperature if the engine temperature directly after the stoppage of the engine is higher than the above set temperature and further the starting time is longer than a prescribed value, and carries out an optimum cooling of the fuel system.
