Disk reproducing device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten a retrieval time, by detecting the position of a first, or a second pickup, from the position of the first, or the second pickup correlatively, and selecting the pickup nearer to a retrieval position. CONSTITUTION:Pickups 1 and 2 can move in the radius direction of a disk D coupled by a pickup feeding mechanism 3. In such case, a signal read out by the pickup 1 is inputted to a control microcomputer 12 through a signal processing circuit 11, and the position of the pickup 1, and also, the position of the pickup 2 is calculated. Next, at the time of issuing the command of a retrieval operation, the pickup nearer to the retrieval position is selected, and the pickup is moved by a pickup sending circuit 8, and also, the selected pickup is set at an operating state by a signal switching circuit 7. In such way, it is possible to shorten the retrieval time.
