Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the other recording layer from being affected by laser light when one recording layer is sublimated by a laser light spot by specifying the distance between the heat-sensitive sublimatable signal recording layers disposed to face each other to a specific value or above. CONSTITUTION:The heat-sensitive sublimatable signal recording layers 23, 24 consisting of a cyanine dye, etc., are provided on the opposed surfaces of a pair of circular substrates 21, 22 consisting of PMMA, etc., and annular spacers 25, 26 are fixed by an adhesive agent 28 to the outside and inside peripheral parts of the substrates 21, 22. The distance between the layers 23 and 24 is set larger than 0.5mm. Since such constitution eliminates the need for a reinforcing plate to be commonly used as an annular spacer and partition plate, the size of the optical disk is reduced and the cost of the production thereof is reduced.
