Head-up color display
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent an image from becoming out of focus by reflecting relay lens light by a holographic mirror where interference fringes for chromatic aberration compensation are recorded previously and combining it with external light by a holographic combiner. CONSTITUTION:A display element part 10 outputs color symbols 70 for pointing and a scale and color symbol light 60 or R, G, and B is projected on a relay lens 20. The relay lens 20 projects relay lens light 61 to form intermediate images 74R-74B which shift in position from one another owing to chromatic aberration on the holographic mirror 30. The interference fringes for the chromatic aberration correction are recorded previously on the hologram mirror 30 and diffracted light 62 after the chromatic aberration is compensated is reflected. The holographic combiner 40 reflects the diffracted light 62, transmits the external light 63 from a distant external scene 7, and superposes 64 the diffracted light 62 upon the external light 63 to form a color image 73. Consequently, the relay lens is easily designed and manufactured and the image is prevented from being out of focus.
