Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable stable feeding even when forming a picture image on an envelope with uneven thickness by providing a projecting part having nearly the same width as that of a feeding means in a position faced to said feeding means of a sheet loading table, and raising a center part. CONSTITUTION:A required number of envelopes E are placed on a sheet loading table 15 in such a way that their front ends are placed on a separating seat 21 and, the width direction of the envelopes E... is restricted by moving width direction restricting members 16, 16 while the rear ends of the envelopes E... are restricted by moving a rearward restricting member 19 and, in this condition, a cassette 12 is charged into a copying machine. In this case, on the front end part of the envelopes E..., on the side close to the separating seat, the center part is raised up by a projecting part 21 while both sides of the envelopes E... are slightly droopled by their own weight and, thereby, the envelopes E... on the top position are kept nearly in a horizontal condition. When a copy start key is pressed in this condition, a rotating feed roller 1 is securely brought into contact with the surface of the envelope E giving a defined feeding force, thereby, feeding the envelopes E... from one on the top position in order without causing improper feeding.
