Copper alloy for electronic and electric appliance and its production
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To produce a copper alloy having excellent strength, electric conductivity, etc., for electronic and electrical appliance by subjecting an alloy prepd. by incorporating specific ratios of Sn, P, Mn, Cr, etc., into Cu successively to hot working, cooling, cold working and heat treatment under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:The alloy contg., by weight %, 0.05-8% Sn, 0.001-0.1% P, and 0.03-2.0% Mn, further, contg. 0.05-1% in total of 1 or >=2 kinds among Cr, Co, Ti and Zr and consisting of the balance Cu is hot worked at 700-1,050 deg.C. After the worked alloy is cooled at least at >=15 deg.C/sec rate down to 400 deg.C, the alloy is subjected to >=30% cold working and heat treatment at 400-650 deg.C. The copper alloy having excellent practicable characteristics such as strength, electric conductivity, plating property and solderability as semiconductor lead materials, and contact springs, terminals, etc., of connectors, switches and relays, is thereby produced.
