optical information recording carrier
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To increase a recording capacity by forming respective recording pits by dot patterns on a matrix and changing the dot patterns to record ternary and higher digital information. CONSTITUTION:The patterns of the circular pits 11 are formed within one recording element 9 by changing the number and/or disposition, etc., thereof. The pits 11 are formed of the further finer ruggedness than the pits which are usually used for an optical disk; namely, the pits are formed by the dot patterns on a matrix. The ternary and higher digital information is recorded by changing the dot patterns thereof. Recording of the many bits in the recording element of the specified size is thereby enabled and the recording capacity of the optical disk can be increased even if the focusing width of light at the time of reproduction is not reduced.
