Detecting method for casting defect in continuous casting

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To detect the casting defect under hot state just after casting by non-destructive test by detecting the casting defect from uneven temp. on the casting pipe surface. CONSTITUTION:The casting pipe 1 surface just after casting is photographed by an industrial television camera 2. The casting defect part in the casting pipe 1 is shown locally as bright color caused by high temp. and the surrounded sound part is shown as dark color. This picture is transferred into the CPU 4 and an picture processing for binarized image is executed. The processed image information is transferred into a monitor 5, to be regenerated as the processed image.
