Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the effects of electrical disturbance factors by providing a conductive route communicating with a soln. to be measured separately from a flow passage for supplying the soln. to be measured. CONSTITUTION:Conductors 21, 22 conducting to the soln. to be measured are provided to the inlet side and outlet side positions of the flow passage 12, which are opposite positions of the opposed surfaces, of a reference electrode 13 and indicator electrode 14 of an insulator substrate 11. A pair of the conductors 21, 22 are maintained at the same potential, for example, the ground potential. Unnecessary current flows between the conductors 21 and 22 if said current is assumed to be passed to the soln. to be measured by the electrical disturbance factor when the measurement of an ion concn. is started by supplying the desired soln. to be measured, for example, blood in the arrow direction in the flow passage 12. Namely, the current bypasses the route connecting the conductors 21 and 22; therefore, the current does not flow to the soln. to be measured between the electrodes 13 and 14. Since the generation of a potential difference between the electrodes 13 and 14 is obviated in the above-mentioned manner, the ion concn. is exactly measured.
