Input/output control system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To realize the effective application of hardware as well as quick input/output actions by performing the input/output processes for each channel by means of a table, a pointer and a flag as well as a program and in response to the state of an input/output sub-system. CONSTITUTION:The input/output processes are carried out by a pointer 24 and an available table containing an input/output request is searched with reference of a flag. When a relevant CU table 22a, for example, is detected, an input/output request is taken out of the table 22a. Then the state of an input/ output sub-system (input/output device 6a) is checked by a device table 23a and the table 23a is set under a busy state if the device 6a is performing an input/output action. Then the input/output request is linked with the table 23a. If the device 6a performs no input/output action, a channel 4a gives an input/ output action to the device 6a based on an input/output action processing program allocated to a channel table 21a. In other words, this program functions to perform the input/output process in response to the state of the device 6a.
