Auxiliary scanning conveying mechanism
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of an object to be scanned to high-precisely scan a picture, by a method wherein a set of guide members in each of which a recessed part to guide and convey the object to be scanned is formed is situated between two sets of roller pairs to convey the object to be scanned. CONSTITUTION:When a sheet material A, e.g. accumulative phosphor sheets, is nipped by means of two sets of roller pairs 22 and 24 to convey them in an auxiliary scanning direction, a set of guide members 28 and 30 making contact with both sides of the sheet material A are disposed between the two sets of the roller pairs 22 and 24. Besides, a recessed part is formed in each of the opposing surface parts of the guide members 28 and 30. Therefore, even when the curved sheet material A is conveyed, bending of the sheet material A is straightened by means of the guide members 28 and 30 for conveyance. This constitution enables prevention of displacement of a position due to bending of the sheet material A during reading of a picture, and eventually permits high-precise scanning of a picture.
