Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the executing performance of a compiler processing system by checking that a variable defined by a substitute sentence having its right member equal to a polynomial has the only application through an optimizing part of an intermediate language and substituting the application for the right member of the substitute sentence to delete this sentence when the corresponding conditions are satisfied. CONSTITUTION:At an optimizing part for an intermediate language evolved from a source program, a using frequency checking part 14 checks the using frequency and the position of the variable value defined by a substitute sentence in a program. Then a variable definition check part 15 confirms that the variables emerging at the right member of the substitute sentence are not defined in a section between a defining point and a using point and that such a function call is carried out that changes the value of the variable emerging at the right member of the substitute sentence in case just a single using frequency is confirmed by the part 14. A transmitting.deleting part 16 substitutes the using point of the variable for a polynomial of the right member of the substitute sentence and deletes the substitute sentence.
