Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To optimize the timing of hand-off by devising the system such that S/N decides the timing of channel switching mainly when a threshold value of a reception signal level to a certain value or below and a reception signal level decides the said timing mainly when the threshold level is set to the value or over. CONSTITUTION:A T1 and a threshold value of a reception signal input (RSSI) are down-loaded from a data base of a central exchange station at the start of system and stored in a logic circuit and a controller 12. Whether the threshold value of the RSSI of the data base is smaller or larger than a predetermined set value is discriminated, and when smaller, the procedure by the S/N (SNR) system is selected and when larger, the procedure by the RSSI system is selected. Selecting the SNR system, at first the detection output of the SNR is read, ON/OFF is discriminated and in case of OFF, the existing data of a counter is shifted by one stage and 1 is registered at the present time. The total of a t-counter is checked and when the total (t) of the counter exceeds t1, a handoff request is sent and when not exceeding, the next task is proceeded.
