Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a miniaturized and simplified optical pickup device, by separating a part of light beams at the middle of an optical path between a light source and a recording medium, and providing a position detecting means for a light output stabilizing means which uses the light beams and the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A part of the light beams advancing to a disk 3 is separated by a beam splitter 11 provided at the middle of the optical path between a semiconductor laser 8 and the disk 3. A separated light beams are made incident on an separation prism 27 via a total reflecting prism 24, and a trapezoidal prism 25 fixed on a movable part. Next, incident light beams are separated to two light beams by a half mirror 27a, and transmission light beams on one side are received by a semiconductor position sensor 28 that is the position detecting means for the disk 3 of the movable part 5. And reflected light beams on the other side are reflected by a total reflecting prism 27b, and are received by a PIN type optical detector 29 uses as the light output stabilizing means. Thus, it is possible to simplify and miniaturize the constitution of the optical pickup device 1.
