Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily electrify a photosensitive body without using a high-voltage power source, by incorporating metallic oxide in an elastic resistor and setting its resistance value of 10<6>-10<9>OMEGAcm, and bringing it into contact with a body to be electrified and applying a voltage. CONSTITUTION:In a device for electrifying a body to be electrified, by bringing an elastic resistor into contact with the body to be electrified, metallic oxide is incorporated in the elastic resistor and its resistance value is set to 10<6>-10<9>OMEGAcm, and also, this elastic resistor is pressed against the body to be electrified, by a load of 0.014kg/cm-0.18kg/cm. An electrifying device 2 consists of a mandrel 8, and roller-like silicone rubber serving as an elastic resistor layer for covering this mandrel 8, and in the silicone rubber 9, TiO2 lic oxide is contained as metal oxide, and its resistance value is set to 10<8>-cm. Also, a load of 0.014kg/cm is applied to the electrifying device 2 and it is brought to setting, and connected electrically to an external power source 10. In such a way, the surface of a photosensitive body can be electrified satisfactorily and stably without using a high-voltage power source.
