Mechanical translating device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify an exchanging operation of translated words by constituting the titled device such that the input of a new translated word is possible in the same phase as a translation process in case the output dictionary contents include no desired translated word in the exchanging operation of translated words. CONSTITUTION:An input sentence is inputted and the combination of parts of speech is set after the dictionary consulting process and analysis of morphemes. Thus a syntax structure is analyzed together with conversion of languages and production of a target language. Then the result of translation using translated words is produced and displayed on a CRT 3. When the display of translated words is selected, a desired word is indicated and a group of translated words is displayed for the indicated word. Furthermore the corresponding translated words are displayed with inversion in a translated sentence. It is judged whether a desired translated word is included or not in the dictionary contents in case the display contents are exchanged with new translated word. When the dictionary contents include the desired translated word, a replaceable translation is selected and inputted. If not, a new translated word is inputted. Then the inverted display translated words are erased and the selected or new translated words are replaced with words in a translated sentence. All translation processings are executed by a CPU 1.
