Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a blue phosphor which exhibits an improved luminous flux ratio during lamp lighting and which comprises a compd. of a particular compsn. formula. CONSTITUTION:An oxide of at least one metal selected from Ca, Mg, Sr, Ba and Zn, Eu2O3 and B2O3 are mixed together and baked in the air to prepare a baked product. The baked product is pulverized and baked in a reducing atmosphere composed of a mixture comprising H2 gas and N2 gas to prepare a blue phosphor of the formula (wherein M is at least one member selected from among Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Zn; 0.1<=m<=0.85; and 0.001<=n<=0.90).
