Magnetic card and method and device for recording and reproduction thereof

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate the opportunity of illegal use of a card by recording a verification identification code in terms of a binary code by magnetic recording having positive or negative azimuth to the azimuth of the magnetic recording data. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic card 1 has a magnetic recording part 2A with momentary amount information and a name of issued party or the like recorded thereupon, a data track 2 including a magnetic recording part 2B with an identification code specific to the card thereupon and an ID track 3 with a verification identification code different from each card to verify the adequacy of the card thereupon. Then the verification identification code recorded magnetically on the ID track 3 is recorded in terms of the binary code of '0' or '1' depending on the azimuth of the written magnetic head. Since the ID track 3 is written by the special write system where the azimuth is varied with the bit code, it is not written by a conventional card writer and forgery or re- recording of the magnetic card is prevented.
