Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily and correctly input the original position by storing a wide photoelectric transducer in an insertion plug and storing a light source and a light transmission cable as the light receiving part in a pen casing to narrow the front end of the pen casing. CONSTITUTION:In case of read of an image, an operator takes a pen 2 in his hand and brings its front end part into contact with an original surface 7 and manually scans the pen 2 in the reading direction of the original. Then, the light projected from a light source 6 is re flected on the original surface 7, and the reflected light is taken into a CCD array 8 through an optical fiber bubndle 5. Thus, picture information on the original surface is optically read, and picture data outputted from the CCD array 8 is amplified by an amplifier AMP 15 and is binarized by a binarizing circuit 16 and is converted from serial data to parallel data by an S/P converter 17, and parallel data is stored in a prescribed address of a RAM 12 through an input/output port 13.
