Arithmetic unit for fuzzy inference
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure adaptability of control by using a 1st memory which stores the consequent part fuzzy variable, a 2nd memory which stores the coefficient data on the consequent part membership function, and an arithmetic unit which carries out the consequent part arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:The largest one of valid degree alpha belonging to the same fuzzy variable is chosen and stored in the 1st memory 15 after grading. Then an arithmetic operation is applied last to said degree alpha. Thus the arithmetic time can be shortened compared with a case where all valid degrees alpha are calculated. While the 2nd memory 17 turns a consequent part membership function into a style in which a relevant function waveform is obtained by arithmetic with use of an existing relational formula based on the coefficient data if available. These coefficient data are stored for each consequent part membership. Thus the memory capacity can be greatly reduced in comparison with a case where a consequent part membership function is stored in the form of a group of many spot train data.
