Autoslice circuit

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To stably shape a waveform in a short time by controlling the 1st slice level so that the phases of leading and trailing edges of a binary information signal can be equal in terms of an autoslice circuit shaping the binary information signal superimposed with a transmission signal in terms of a waveform and setting the 2nd slice level. CONSTITUTION:A video signal with which a character broadcasting signal is superimposed as a binary information signal is impressed on a terminal T1. A control part 17 receiving a detection output from a code detecting circuit 16 controls a D/A converter 12 to sweep a slice level, obtains the upper and lower limit slice levels from which the detection output can be available, and sets the intermediate level as the 1st slice level. The control part 17 controls the D/A converter 12 to set the 2nd slice level so that both phases can be equal to the 1st slice level as a reference. If the leading edge phase is equal to the tailing edge phase, a duty ratio becomes 1:1. Accordingly the character broadcasting signal can be sliced at an optimum level.
