Apparatus for automatic injection of specimen for capillary column

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform a process from the sampling of a liquid specimen to the injection of the specimen in a capillary column in a full-automatic manner, by operating a needle in connection with the opening/ closing of a specimen injection port. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the injection of a specimen, the leading end of a needle 10 is fallen by the falling of a piston 11 to reach a passing aperture 17. At this time, air from a supply port 20 enters a gap 23 not only to push up a cylinder 22 but also to compress a spring 24 and pressure to a packing 25 is released to open the insert part 26 of the needle 10 and the needle 10 is fallen to pierce through the passing aperture 17, the passing aperture 27 of the cylinder 22 and the insert part 26 to be inserted in an injection pipe 19. The falling of the needle 10 is stopped at a predetermined position by a stopper and the cylinder 22 is pushed down by the spring 24 to seal the packing 25. The upper end of the needle 10 rises through a syringe 6 and the specimen in the syringe 6 is sent to the injection pipe 19 through then needle 10 to be inserted into a capillary column.
