Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To analyze a small amt. of sample with high resolving power by evaporating a solvent, injecting the sample thereto and introducing the same into a column inlet in a direct injection method gas chromatographic method in which a capillary column is used. CONSTITUTION:An injection port device 1 is constituted of an outside cylinder 3 and an inside cylinder 2. A carrier gas is put into the gas inlet 9 in the lower part of the outside cylinder 3. The gas is passed between the outside cylinder 3 and the inside cylinder 2, is turned over in the upper part, is passed in the inside cylinder 2 and is conducted to the capillary column 11. The sample is injected from a septum 4 into the column by a microsyringe, etc. A heating mean 5 is provided around the cylinder 3 to evaporate the solvent as the carrier gas so that the carrier gas is conducted in the non-condensing state even in the inside cylinder 2 to the capillary column inlet 7. The evaporated solvent is introduced into the capillary column without recondensing the same and therefore, the tailing of the solvent is eliminated and the sample is analyzed with good reproducibility.
