Path guide apparatus for vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a function to set automatically the shortest path from a starting intersection to the objective intersection by storing the correlation quantity between the next attainable adjoining intersection and the time required until then for every intersection in a basic information storage means. CONSTITUTION:The titled apparatus is mainly constituted of a controller consisting of a CPU 1, a system ROM 2 and a RAM 3. Various functions are realized by executing various control programs stored in the ROM 2 with the CPU 1. Further, the storage of various informations such as a road map and the intersection is performed by an external memory quantity between the next attainable adjoining intersection and the time required until then for every intersection is stored considering a passing directional rule in the basic information storage means and a path retrieval means retrieves the shortest path going from the starting intersection to the objective intersection under a prescribed condition based on the contents of the basic information storage means. Further, a path correction means corrects the path to that not including a U-turn place in case the U-turn place is included on the retrieved shortest path.
