Exhaust timing controller for two-cycle engine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent an on-off valve from malfunctioning as carbon or the like sticks to it, by opening or closing the valve, opening or closing an exhaust port upper edge of a two-cycle engine according to an engine speed, after the elapse of the specified time at neutral of a car. CONSTITUTION:A first control valve 9, which turns round centering on a shaft 11 in order to open or close an upper edge part 10a of an exhaust port 5a in a two-cycle engine, is installed, and also a second control valve 10, which comes into contact with the upper side of the control valve 9 and covers the upper edge part, is installed, and this second control valve 10 is always pressed and contacted to the first control valve 9 with a spring 14. A control circuit 41 receives a pulse signal to be synchronized with an engine speed at the time of ordinary driving, driving a motor 40, and at the time of low speed in the engine, drives each control valve in a closing direction, thereby delaying open timing of the exhaust port to some extent. On the other hand, the control circuit 41 inputs a fact that a car enters a neutral state, and after the elapse of the specified time, it drives the motor 40 and also drive the control valve 9 for its on-off operation, thus carbon or the like stuck to the valve is scraped off.
