Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by making on the power source of a communication equipment based upon the detecting output of a call signal. CONSTITUTION:By a call to a telephone set 2 through a telephone line 5, a call signal is impressed on a diode bridge 6C through a resistor 6A and a capacitor 6B. The call signal rectified by the diode bridge 6C is added on a photo coupler consisting of a light emitting diode 6E and a photodetecting element 6F. The photodetecting element 6F is made on when the call signal ie received and energizes a relay coil 6G, closing a control contact point 8. Thereby, the power supplying from the power source 7 to a modem 1, an interface 3 and a computer 4 is started. At such a time, the computer 4 closes the contact point 6I connected in parallel with the photodetecting element 6F and performs the self-holding of the above operation.
