Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enhance operability in correction, by providing a function of correcting a character string including a character at the current carriage position. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 1 is provided with a group of a alphanumeric keys 11, a correction key 12 for commanding correction of a character, a word key 13 for commanding correction of a character string in combination with the correction key 12, a correction end key for commanding finishing of the correction of a character, and other various function keys. An ETW controlling part starts execution of processing when the correction key 12 is depressed and when the word key 13 and the correction key 12 are depressed. A printer 3 corrects a printed character by positioning a correction tape to an impact position, selecting a type corresponding to a designated character code, and driving a printing hammer 38 to make an impact on the type.
