Mechanical translating system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable an operator to give instructions to a system while referring to the progress of translation by displaying the progress from signals from each process of a translating section. CONSTITUTION:A form element analyzing section converts the words of inputted original to an original form, and an translation retrieving section finds out the information of the part of speech, translation etc. at every word. An analysis controlling section sends the candidate of translation to a sentence structure analyzing section. The sentence structure analyzing section analyzes sentence structure of the candidate of translation and forms the structure of an English writing. A structure converting section converts the structure of English into the structure of Japanese. A sentence structure forming section converts the structure of Japanese to the word order of Japanese, and a form element generating section changes the end of words and completes a translation. Each of above-mentioned processing section outputs a signal to an edition controlling section 4 when starting a processing, and the edition controlling section 4 displays the state of translation responding to the translation state signal.
