Backseat device of automobile

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent baggage in a trunk of an automobile where the passenger compartment is to be communicated with the trunk by the forward bending movement of a backrest of a backseat from being stolen by providing the underside of a headrest being able to be locked with an operation member of a locking mechanism of the backrest. CONSTITUTION:In an automobile where the passenger compartment is communicated with the trunk when the backrest 3 of the backseat 1 is bent forward, the back surface of the backrest 3 is provided with a locking mechanism 8 for locking the backrest 3 at an upright position by the engagement with a striker 7 fixed on the body 6. A headrest 9 capable of bending forward is equipped on the upside of the backrest 3 using a hinge 11. A key cylinder 12 having an engagement member 12b for making and breaking engagement with an engagement member 13 attached to the backrest 3 is provided behind an upper hinge bracket 11c of the hinge 11. An operation knob 15 for releasing the locking of the locking mechanism 8 is provided at the top of the backrest 3, with the top being exposed when the headrest 9 is bent forward.
