Fuel injection valve for internal-combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to employ a small-sized piezoelectric element in a fuel injection valve utilizing a piezoelectric element by applying oil pressure controlled by a piezoelectric element to a control rod arranged in series with a needle resiliently forced on the closing direction. CONSTITUTION:The fuel injection valve 8 is constituted by inserting slidably and in a series geometry a control rod 26, a pressure pin 27 and a needle 28 into a fuel injection valve body 20 to form a nozzle 21 fixed with a nozzle holder 23. A fuel chamber 29 above the control rod 26 communictes via a fuel inflow port 24 with a pressure accumulation chamber. A circumference of a pressure receiving surface 35 formed at the middle of the control rod 26 is made a pressure chamber 36 which commuicates with the inside ffa cylinder 37 in which a piston 38 is fitted. For driving the piston 38, a drive device 40 including a piezoelectric element 42 is arranged. By energizing and controlling the piezoelectric element 42, control oil pressure for giving force in the needle valve opening direction is controlled independent of fuel pressure.
