Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain the efficient output of a picture information by reconstituting the picture information transferred from an input device to a storage means into one input picture information depending on a storage paper size information and an input picture size information and transferring the input picture information to an output device. CONSTITUTION:A picture information storage area A0 is set in response to the input control information sent from an information processing unit 12 to start the input of picture information from a picture information from a picture information input device 7. When a longitudinal size Y and the lateral size X of an in put picture (a) are inputted from a picture input device 7, a MPU1 calculates the number of the input pictures (a) possible for being stored in a picture memory 4 based on the recording paper size information set to a picture information output device 6. That is, the maximum longitudinal size Ymax is divided by the longitudinal size Y of the picture information to obtain a quotient (m) and the maximum lateral size Xmax is divided by the lateral size X of the picture information to obtain a quotient (n), and the picture information (a) are expanded automatically in the picture memory 4 and each picture data is stored in split addresses. Thus, plural images are edited automatically efficiently on one prescribed size of original and outputted, then the print efficiency is improved and the waste of paper is reduced remarkably.
