Information system for electronic mail arrival

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To allow a receiver for an electronic mail to knows the arrival of the electronic mail in his or her place by displaying and indicating the arrival of the electronic mail on a display telephone set through an exchange. CONSTITUTION:When the user of an electronic mail system sends the electronic mail, the mail box number of the receiver for the electronic mail is sent to an information processor 3 from a data terminal equipment 2. The information processor 3 retrieves a user control information part 4 to find a main box number 11 coincident with the received mail box number. Then, the telephone number 12 stored in a pair with the corresponding mail box number is taken out. The information processor 3 sends the telephone number to the exchange 6, which displays and indicates the electronic mail arrival on the display part 8 of the telephone set 7a having the sent telephone number.
