Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To detect whether or not a carriage is correctly running by detecting the relative positions between a carriage transferring roller and a guide rail. CONSTITUTION:Depending on the degree of deforming of mode due to the effect of interference between the laser beam emitted from a laser light source 41 and a partial returning light from a half mirror 44. The titled device is so constituted that the amounts of pitching and yawing of the carriage 26 can be detected depending on the degree of deforming of mode due to the effect of interference between the alser ebam emitted from a laser light source 41 and a partial returning light from a half mirror 44. The laser light from the source 41 that transmitted the mirror 44 is made incident to an optical position- detector 45. The position-detection in the radial direction of the carriage 26 is executed by means of the output from the said detector 45, and the detection of the rolling of the carriage 26 is also executed likewise. Accordingly, a detecting mechanism part 46 is constituted by a light source 41, a lens 42, the half mirror 44, and the optical position-detector 45.
