Base material for high-density recording media

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the deformation and strain arising from a change in ambient environment by using a laminated composite body consisting of a continuous layer of a non-magnetic metal and a film of an org. high-polymer material. CONSTITUTION:The thin non-magnetic metallic sheet 1 having continuously the metallic structure into a layer shape and plastic film layers 2, 3 are laminated by using an adhesive agent 4. A magnetic paint is coated on both surfaces of the substrate obtd. in such a manner and is dried to sure. The substrate is then blanked to a disk shape to manufacture a magnetic disk. The dimensional change of the medium by the effect of temp. and humidity is thus decreased and the easy correction of the change quantity by a driver is made possible.
