Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To judge easily whether or not picture data, which can be displayed, is recorded at the disk and to display suitably in accordance with the recording/ non-recording condition by recording identifying information showing presence or absence of picture display data which can compose essentially a picture, out of picture data recorded by using sub-code data. CONSTITUTION:When the reproduced data is a picture display mode (TV mode or LINE mode), processing in accordance with the data. For example, when an instruction write a font on the screen is reproduced, the picture data is written in a graphic video RAM 122 by using a video RAM control circuit 121, and hen the data is a ZERO instruction, operation on the screen will be never executed. On the other hand, when the reproduced data is ZERO mode data, an data reading address supplied through the video RAM control circuit 121 to ROM 123 for displaying a picture, and a data writing address supplied to a graphic video RAM 122 are reset and an initial action is executed.
