Water pump bearing fixing method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To ensure assembling by providing a flange part which projects to the outside in the radial direction, on one end face of the outer ring of a bearing, and fixing a pump body to it. CONSTITUTION:A flange part 18 which projects to the outside in the radial direction, is provided on one end face of the outer ring 17 of a bearing 12 of a water pump 10, and a pump body 11 is fixed to the flange part 18. Accordingly, the construction can be such that the outer periphery of the outer ring 17 of the bearing 12 at its track positions 17a, 17b in the radial direction, is not affected by the pressing in of the pump body 11. Thereby, the pump body is not positioned in the radial direction of the track positions of the bearing, preventing the clearance of bearing from varying according to dimensional dispersion on manufacture or variation in operating conditions, and ensuring assembling.
