Array antenna for circularly polarized wave
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To alternately array circularly polarized wave antennas so as to improve the wide angle axial ratio characteristic, by arranging two micro-strip type antennas having polarized waves of directions spatially intersecting with each other at right angles in directions spatially intersecting with each other at right angles and supplying electricity to the antennas by relatively giving 90 deg. phase difference. CONSTITUTION:Conductor patterns 1a and 1b in directions spatially intersecting with each other at right angles and conductor patterns 1c and 1d which intersect with each other at right angles as the patterns 1a and 1b do and spatially intersect the patterns 1a and 1b are printed on the surface of a dielectric 2 forming a circularly polarized wave antenna. The patterns 1a and 1b and 1c and 1d are used as micro-strip type antennas and excitation is performed in polarizing directions which are spatially different by 90 deg. from each other in the resonance frequency of two frequencies to the feeding points 4a and 4b and 4c and 4d of the patterns 1a and 1b and 1c and 1d from a hybrid circuit. Then, by using such a simple means that the circularly polarized wave antenna composed of a set of the two-frequency micro-strip type antennas is alternately arranged in opposite directions, the wide angle axial ratio characteristic is improved.
