Generator for circular polarized wave
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To generate circular polarized waves with the high gain and sharp directivity by arranging two kinds of slot antennas, differing in polarization surface by an angle of 90 deg., in matrix alternatively and by giving a difference of either 1/4 or 3/4 wavelength to excitation points between the both. CONSTITUTION:Slot antennas 5 and 6, and 5' and 6' are arranged crossing respectively at right angles, and when the excitation phase to those antennas is given a difference of pi/2, circular polarized waves are radiated. Antennas 5 and 5' and 6 and 6' with the same polarization surfaces are arranged on feeder 2 being coupled each other at an interval L of approximate single wavelength. Intervals (l) between different antennas 5 and 6, and 5' and 6' are fixed one fourth or three fourth as long as the wavelength so as to make antennas 5 and 5' pi/2 out of excitation phase with 6 and 6'. Each antenna, therefore, generates a circular polarized wave by progressive-wave excitation series feeding.
