Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide an infrared absorption composition suitable for a filter by incorporating a specific complex compd. as an active component with the composition so as to absorb an infrared light, especially at a long wavelength range. CONSTITUTION:More than one kind of the complex compd. shown by the formu la is incorporated with the infrared absorption component in an appropriate amount. In the formula, R and R' are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group and a heterocyclic ring group; [Cat] is a cation for neutralizing the complex compd.; M is Ni, Pd and Pt. The above-described composition shows the max. absorption at the long wavelength range, especially >=900 n m wavelength range and has a high solubility for an organic solvent and a good compatibility for a film forming binder. Therefore, the above-described composition is preferable to use to a plastic film for a photodetector in a semi conductor laser. Besides, a metal element shown by the symbol M in the formula is useful to fine-adjust the interrelation between the max. absorption wavelength of the metal element and a molecular extinction coefficient.
