Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain solidified materials of Co-based superalloy power having ultraplasticating performance by separating preliminarily fine carbide to the crystalline grain boundary of the inside of Co-based superalloy powder by means of preheating treatment in case of solidifying the Co-based superalloy powder with a thermal hydrostatic press and thermal extrusion. CONSTITUTION:The grain size of Co-based superalloy powder is about 20-100mu normally and the fine crystal grains having about 5mu crystal grain size exist in the powder. On one hand, the carbide separated in case of manufacturing this powder is one part thereof and the remaining many parts are solidified in the matrix. These carbides are separated because the temp. of about 1,000-1,200 deg.C is given thereto at the period of the solidification but the matrix is recrystallized simultaneously to cause the growth of grains because the work is added at the period of the solidification. Therein, when the above-mentioned powder is subjected to preliminary heat treatment, carbon which has been changed into solid soln. to the inside of the matrix is finely separated and formed around the crystal grains of the inside of the powder. After this treatment, when it is solidified with thermal press or thermal extrusion, the growth of the grains wherein the carbide has been finely separated and formed already is prevented even if work is added thereto and the aimed solidified material having about 5mu crystal grain size is obtained.
