Overlap display system of pictures

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an easy-to-see overlap picture by storing the priority information for a priority display of pictures of a specific series in one of picture signal generating mens of plural series and synthesizing the picture signals of each series according to said priority information. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd series video signal generating circuits 4A and 4B are provided. A memory 1' of the circuit 4B stores the color designation information together with character codes to specify the color of the displayed characters among combinations of three colors R, G and B. While a memory 1' of the circuit 4A stores the priority information showing the priority to be given to a specific series video signal in addition to the character code and its color designation information. The priority information contains bits S0 and S1. The character code is supplied to a character generator 2 among the memory contents of both memories 1'. The 3-bit color designation information is supplied to a synthesizing circuit 9; while the priority information is supplied to a priority deciding circuit 8.
