Tubular filter material

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a tubular filter material wherein an open-cell porous resin tube is used not only as the support carrier of an open-cell porous resin film but also as a preparatory filter member, by coating the entire outer peripheral surface of said resin tube with said resin film. CONSTITUTION:A film 12 is wound around a porous tube 11 comprising a polytetrafluoroethylene resin in a spiral form to obtain a tubular filter material 6 which is, in turn, wound in a coil form to obtain a filter mechanism. This tubular filter material 6 generates no craking and breakage and becomes especially suitable for such a process that the end part of the tubular filter material 6 is inserted in the passing hole of an end surface plate 1 and strongly fixed thereto by a stepped opne plug 9. If the film 12 is formed by using the same polytetrafluoroethylene as the tube 11, a tubular filter excellent in chemical resistance and heat resistance is obtained.
