Oil/water separator
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make the titled separator compact and inexpensive while making it possible to easily achieve the removal of only oils and fats, by forming an inflow chamber, a separation chamber and an outflow chamber in a stay tank and forming the separation chamber so that the upper cross-sectional area thereof in the vicinity of the surface of water is made narrow as compared with the lower one thereof. CONSTITUTION:Waste water containing oils and fats flowed in a stagnation tank 2 from an inflow pipe 3 is at first forcibly flowed down into an inflow chamber 6 and thereafter passed under partition plates 5 to be flowed down to a separation chamber 7. Then, oils and fats OF low in specific gravity are separated and floated from the wide range between the lower vertical surfaces 5b, 5b spaced apart from each other of the partition plates 5, 5 and flocculated on the surface of water between upper vertical surfaces 5a, 5a having a gap formed so as to be narrower than that between the lower ones and only treated waste water, from which said oils and fats OF were removed, is passed under the partition plates 5 to be flowed to an outflow chamber 8 and discharged to a sewage pipe from an outflow pipe 4 through a discharge pipe. Oils and fats flocculated on the surface of water of the separation chamber 7 are periodically removed.
