scintillation camera
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To compensate easily a drift of a circuit system due to a secular change of a photomultiplier and a variance of surroundings by providing a scintillator, the photomultiplier, a preamplifier, etc. CONSTITUTION:The radiation passes a scintillator 1 and is sent from a photomultiplier 2 to an adding circuit 4 through a preamplifier 3 to obtain a position signal and an energy signal. When the scintillation light in a certain position occurs, the output of the photomultiplier 2 is inversely proportional to the length from this position to the photomultiplier. Since the total sum of outputs of the photomultiplier 2 corresponds to the energy of the incident radiation, the total sum signal is obtained as the energy signal. Meanwhile, a microcomputer 7 is operated at intervals of a certain time to output a cut-off signal to the photomultiplier 2, and the output is sent to an integrating circuit 6 through the preamplifier 3 and the circuit 4 and is integrated and is stored in a sampling and holding circuit 8. The integral value of the circuit 8 is subtracted from the output of the circuit 4 by a subtracting circuit 5. Thus, the drift is cancelled to perform compensation easily.
