Shoe holding unit of drum brake for car

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve operation efficiency by forming a barrel having a special cross section and a hollow to allow shoe hold down pins to pass through it and by making a stopper member contact with the side end of a parking lever being elastically hooked at a back plate. CONSTITUTION:A hollow barrel 30a which regulates the limit of the retreat of a parking lever 28 and through which shoe hold down pins 13 and 14 can pass allowing themselves to rotate is formed with its cross section being special making a stopper member 30 pass from the back of a back plate 10 to make the side end of the parking lever 28 contact with the side wall 30c at the side of the longitudinal axis of the barrel 31a. The barrel 31a is elastically hooked at the back plate 10 by the shoe hold down pins 13 and 14 and shoe hold spring 15 and 16. For this reason, such simple rotation can release the catch of the brake shoe.
