Polymer for lens
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer having high heat-resistance, chemical resistance, transparency and refractive index, beautiful appearance and comfortable feeling to the body, and useful as an eyeglass lens, etc., by copolymerizing a specific naphthyl (meth)acrylate and a diallyl phthalate. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer can be produced by copolymerizing (A) the first monomer of formula I (R is H or methyl; X is Cl, Br or I; m is 0-4; n is 0-3; m+n is 1-7) (e.g. 6-bromo-2-naphthyl methacrylate) and (B) the second monomer of formula II (R is H or methyl; Y is H, Cl, Br, or I; l is 0-1) (e.g. diallyl isophthalate), preferably at a weight ratio of (5-80):(95-20).
