Magnetic recording and reproducing device with rotating erasing head
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To erase a signal in an area wider than nTp (Tp is the track pitch) by recording and reproducing the TV signal or the like on and from a magnetic tape with n- number of rotary heads and providing one rotary head which erases the signal in the area, which is wider than nTp and just precedes a recording area, at the recording time. CONSTITUTION:A tape 4 is run in the direction of an arrow Vt, and a head cylinder 5 is rotated in the direction of an arrow VH. The old signal is recorded in dot parts, and the signal in the area which corresponds to tracks An and Bn and a part of a track An+1 and has a width 2Tp+alpha is erased magnetically, and a fresh signal is recorded on the track An by a head A which is placed theta behind an erasing head E. The signal is overrecorded in a part beta by the head A, and a signal is recorded on the track Bn by a head B. Thus, the signal is erased and recorded during one rotation, and erasing and recording are repeated again during the next rotation. The gap angle between heads A and B is attenuated equivalently by the azimuth loss reproduced by two heads which are inclined in directions opposite to each other with respect to the direction orthogonal to tracks, and the signal processing capable of eliminating crosstalk is executed.
